Italian Vogue: The Old School Set
Sometimes credit must be given where credit is due-it's as simple as that. These 8 supermodels have pioneered the way for black models, and have changed the industry with their record-breaking careers. Think they're gonna stop now? Think again.

The Pioneer: Patricia Cleveland At age 15, Patricia was discovered by Vogue editor Carrie Donovan and began a fruitful career spanning 5 decades. She became the youngest model to ever tour with the Ebony Fashion Fair, and during the 70’s she emerged as one of fashion's most popular black ‘supermodels'–even before the term was officially coined.

Who She's Worked With: Oscar De La Renta, Valentino, Stephen Burrows, Bill Blass, Vogue
